Hello, I read your information about removing stains from Christening gowns. I am trying to whiten and remove some yellowed stained from a 29 yr old gown which hasn’t been worn in 15 years. Now soaking this dress for my first granddaughter to wear on August 15th. It’s interesting that I bought this dress for my sister’s daughter 28 1/2 yrs ago, and six of my other nieces have worn it. I really hope I can get the stains out. It would mean a lot to me to have my granddaughter Maria wear it. Assuming all goes well, what suggestions do you have for storing it afterwards? Thank you.
Hi Susan,
I would wrap the dress in acid-free tissue paper and store in an acid-free box (NOT IN ANYTHING PLASTIC WHICH WILL LET OFF GASSES THAT CAN DAMAGE YOUR HEIRLOOMS)

**Correction: Both of my daughters wore the dress also.
