Allyson’s baptism dress

When Allyson told me she didn’t want any smocking on her baptism dress, I realized I needed a new plan.  I took Allyson with me to the store and she found this beautiful linen fabric with sheer butterflies all over it.  We agreed to line it in a pale lavender (her favorite color at the time) so the butterflies would stand out.  She also agreed that I could use a little bit of lace and do “not much” hand embroidery around the neckline.  The end results were beautiful, and my daughter was happy!  (pattern size 3-8 )

embroidery is pale green featherstitching, and lavender daisies.

About Missy

I'm a wife to an awesome Army vet, and mother to four daughters and three step-sons! I love to sew. I learned to sew in 4H, and from my Oma while staying with her for a week or two in the summers as a young girl. I love to bake desserts. I would love to live on lots of land and own lots of animals. I've always been drawn to nature which has lead me towards a more natural and healthy lifestyle which I'm finally trying to bring back into my life, and those precious lives around me.

I love this fabric and how it goes all the way down to the floor. The symbolism of the butterfly and lightness of the fabric/style is perfect for a baptism.
