Sarah’s Baptism dress 2002

Here’s my firstborn fairy child, Sarah.  Her baptism day was on her 8th birthday.  I love how this dress turned out!  I knew that I wanted to use Swiss eyelet instead of lace that the original pattern called for.  Unfortunately, the eyelet I had wasn’t wide enough so I had to sew two layers together (talk about time consuming!)  Sarah’s favorite color was (and still is) blue, so I used blue variegated floss for the hand embroidery on the bodice, and along the pointed hem of the dress. .

Dress features are… tucks on bodice back and front, underskirt lining, hand embroidery on bodice and hem, pointed over-hem

About Missy

I'm a wife to an awesome Army vet, and mother to four daughters and three step-sons! I love to sew. I learned to sew in 4H, and from my Oma while staying with her for a week or two in the summers as a young girl. I love to bake desserts. I would love to live on lots of land and own lots of animals. I've always been drawn to nature which has lead me towards a more natural and healthy lifestyle which I'm finally trying to bring back into my life, and those precious lives around me.
