Alexandria’s Gown

I know I’ve shown this gown before, but I finally have some good pictures of it so I’m going to post it anyway.

This gown was made for my niece, Alexandria (Allie).  She is the only daughter of my youngest sister.  Allie has 3 big brothers, and 1 little brother so a super fancy dress was in order!

Gown made with silk twill fabric and white French laces.

hand smocked across front of bodice.  machine pin-tucks and hand embroidered french knots on yoke. hand embroidered bullion roses made with pink silk embroidery floss, leaves done in green silk embroidery floss

hem of gown.  machine stitched scalloped pin-tuck.  Hand embroidered bullion roses made with pink silk embroidery floss and leaves embroidered with green silk embroidery floss, white french knots embroidered with white silk embroidery floss.

Here’s the gown in all it’s glory!  sorry the picture is blurry, it’s the best we could do.

About Missy

I'm a wife to an awesome Army vet, and mother to four daughters and three step-sons! I love to sew. I learned to sew in 4H, and from my Oma while staying with her for a week or two in the summers as a young girl. I love to bake desserts. I would love to live on lots of land and own lots of animals. I've always been drawn to nature which has lead me towards a more natural and healthy lifestyle which I'm finally trying to bring back into my life, and those precious lives around me.

I am in Awe of your talent. I wish with all my heart that I was having another baby .
I would totally buy one of your blessing dresses.
I love smocked dresses. They are just so romantic and sweet.

Well maybe in the next 5 years I will be a grandma and then I will buy one for my grand baby.

Tracked you down at last. If you would like to do a Christmas swap then keep in touch because I am thinking of doing a little one myself. I have visitors from a range of countries and I will make it different to Chookyblue. Lovely work on your blog! I wish I knew about you when my daughter was being Christened.
    Best wishes
PS will add you to my list so that I can find you again!
