May Day Basket Swap

On Easter, my Mom , (sis)Beth, and I did an Easter egg swap.  It was so much fun that  we decided to do a May Day Basket swap.  Lucy and Suzie wanted to join in… for partners we decided to give to the person sitting to our right.   Lucy gives to me, and I give to Beth.
The restrictions were that the basket had to be the size of an old strawberry basket (remember those?)  and we could put whatever ‘spring’ thing inside that we want.
What I did for Beth:

I bought a little wicker basket and painted it with robin’s egg blue paint. (her favorite color).

the contents of the basket include: rose petal soaps, two sheets of spring themed clear rubber stamps, white paper roses, a pink feather butterfly, and a tiny pen and notebook  with mushrooms on it.

What Lucy did for me:
tisket tasket may basket
she took an old strawberry basket and filled it with a vintage hankie,   ‘A Tisket A Tasket’ song,   made some cute notecards and stamps,  and added a couple pieces of candy.

I just have to say that ‘A Tisket, A Tasket’ was one of my favorite songs as a very young little girl.

I still love the song today!
Thank you Lucy for such a great May Basket!

About Missy

I'm a wife to an awesome Army vet, and mother to four daughters and three step-sons! I love to sew. I learned to sew in 4H, and from my Oma while staying with her for a week or two in the summers as a young girl. I love to bake desserts. I would love to live on lots of land and own lots of animals. I've always been drawn to nature which has lead me towards a more natural and healthy lifestyle which I'm finally trying to bring back into my life, and those precious lives around me.

How fun! I think it is so sweet that you do that. And it’s great that you include your daughters in swaps. This will create such fond memories.
