Whitening a Yellowed Baptism Ensemble

I received this nice email from a thankful reader today.  Se had read my tips on removing stains from heirloom clothing.  She even sent me before and after pictures!  You’re welcome, Sue! So glad I could help!

I came across your site while searching for information on cleaning christening gowns. My daughter wanted her baby to wear the dress that she had worn for her baptism 31 years ago. The dress was satin and VERY yellowed and I did not think that it could be safely cleaned. I was hesitant about following your instructions, but I finally put everything in a tub with equal parts Oxi Clean & Dawn. Everything came out as white as snow! Thank you so very much! I’m enclosing before & after pictures. Sue Hasson  Cincinnati, OH.

About Missy

I'm a wife to an awesome Army vet, and mother to four daughters and three step-sons! I love to sew. I learned to sew in 4H, and from my Oma while staying with her for a week or two in the summers as a young girl. I love to bake desserts. I would love to live on lots of land and own lots of animals. I've always been drawn to nature which has lead me towards a more natural and healthy lifestyle which I'm finally trying to bring back into my life, and those precious lives around me.
