“I Do” Alterations

Over a year ago I was contacted by a gal that I went to Jr High and High School with.  She needed her wedding gown altered and only had a few days to get it done!  Of course I was up for the challenge!

The dress was sleeveless and came with a lace jacket.  My job was to alter the jacket and then attach it to the dress so that it would be an open-back dress with wide straps in the front and closed with buttons on the back of the neck.IMG_20130822_121110_496[1]

As you can see in this picture, I have pinned one side of the front to make the dress straps.

I sewed little button loops on the back of the neck opening to go with the glass buttons I attached after cutting the opening for the back.

About Missy

I'm a wife to an awesome Army vet, and mother to four daughters and three step-sons! I love to sew. I learned to sew in 4H, and from my Oma while staying with her for a week or two in the summers as a young girl. I love to bake desserts. I would love to live on lots of land and own lots of animals. I've always been drawn to nature which has lead me towards a more natural and healthy lifestyle which I'm finally trying to bring back into my life, and those precious lives around me.
